It was with great respect and honour be lighting up our landmarks in the colours of the Lebanese flag - red, white and green - in recognition of the tragic explosion in Beirut on 4 August.
An initiative of the Honorary Consulate for Lebanon in Tasmania, locations around Tasmania and Australia were lit in the colours of the flag to pay tribute to the 200 plus lives lost and the many thousands of people injured or impacted by the portside explosion. A Red Cross Appeal was organised in support to Lebanon in relation to the recent catastrophic explosion that rocked the Port of Beirut and surrounds.
